PAST EVENTS

Throughout the year, we offer many workshops and free events. Here are some of the ones you missed:

Actors Aloud

ACTORS ALOUD is our series of FREE Panel Discussions, featuring leading actors and theatre professionals, chatting about issues central to the lives of actors today. Moderated by Jack Doulin and studio head, Scott Freeman, these events give audience members valuable insight into the careers of successful actors. Hear about how they approach roles, discuss their life and work, and much more. The discussions are followed by an open Question & Answer with the audience. Feel free to just show up and bring a friend who is new to the studio, although registration is recommended.

Past panelists include Cherry Jones, Sarah Steele and Santino Fontana, Michael Emerson, Carrie Preston, Marin Ireland, Terry Kinney, Lois Smith, Judith Ivey, Jayne Houdyshell, Maria Dizzia, Suzanne Bertish, Anatol Yusef, etc. Click here for recaps and videos from past panels.

Denise Gough
The Freeman Studio is excited to have had Denis Gough as our guest for this event. This was a unique opportunity to hear one of London's, and now New York's most-acclaimed and outspoken actors, discuss her life and work. Anyone who saw her phenomenal performance in People, Places, Things at St. Ann's Warehouse, or her performance as Harper in Angels in America on Broadway wanted to be there! Watch the full conversation here.
Marisa Tomei
The Freeman Studio is grateful to have had Marisa Tomei at the studio for a recent Actors Aloud event. This was a unique opportunity to hear one of America's most-acclaimed actors, discuss her life and work. Our actors were able to ask questions and Marisa was both passionate and insightful in her responses.

Cherry Jones

Actors Aloud with Cherry Jones was a unique opportunity for actors and community members to hear from one of America's most-acclaimed actors discuss her life and work. Her candid stories were authentic, insightful and inspiring. After the panel discussion, moderated by casting director Jack Doulin and studio head Scott Freeman, there was an open Q&A. Here is a clip of the event in which Cherry talks about how to be tender with yourself as an actor in this business and discusses aspects of working on TV.

Frankie Faison & Larry Pine

This event encapsulated what Actors Aloud is all about: Community and sharing wisdom across the generations! Veteran actors Frankie Faison and Larry Pine visited the studio for an inspiring talk with Casting Director Jack Doulin and a Q&A with our actors and the public. It was an incredibly unique opportunity to hear how these veteran actors have sustained long careers, discussed their life and work.
