OUR NEXT EVENT:

Amanda Quaid

Friday, May 16th, 12pm – 2:30pm
Master Your Mouth w/ AMANDA QUAID

AMANDA QUAID has developed a unique and remarkably effective method for helping actors master a character's way of speaking and communicating.  She is now on the faculty at The Yale MFA Acting Program.

Oral Posture is the single most effective tool in your dialect work. It allows you to effortlessly “place” an accent and maintain consistency. It also allows you to modulate from “light” to “thick,” and even to invent character voices beyond traditional dialect work.

In this workshop, we’ll explore all the
possible postures of the lips, tongue, soft palate, and jaw, plus cover the oral posture orientations of commonly requested accents.

Welker White Headshot Final.jpeg

Friday, July 18th, 12pm – 2:30pm
Screen Acting w/

WELKER WHITE

WELKER WHITE is an actor and educator with deep roots in theatre, film and television. She regularly appears in major films and teaches at major schools, such as NYU Grad and Yale.

This workshop will help you describe your process to yourself in a whole new way.

Actors will learn how stories written for film and television are constructed, and what a given scene – as written on the page – is revealing. It’s only then that the actor is able to release into the circumstances of the story: Not to do "less", but rather to allow for greater specificity, ease, and present-moment veracity in front of a camera. These practical tools are applicable for self-tapes, in person auditions, rehearsals and on-set performance.

What is her approach for successfully helping the vast spectrum of actors’ voices to not just heard but felt?  Come find out!
